The holidays are fast approaching, and that in itself is unbelievable! I hope your school year is going well. Mine is – just so busy! In reading, I am getting ready to move from teaching Vowel-Consonant-e words to r-Controlled syllables. So thinking that you may be in the same place as I am in reading, I wanted to share a FREE r-Controlled gameboard with you. If you like it, you can purchase the packet of 11 other gameboards like this one to review with your students and then place in your literacy stations. These game boards are a lot of fun, and I can promise you that this is such an easy way for students to capture the sounds of r-Controlled syllables. I also included links to other r-Controlled materials if you would like more resources about this specific syllable type.
I am an elementary teacher who currently teaches special education. I love teaching Reading to my K-3 students. I work to discover the gaps in their reading skills. Then I give them successful tools to place in their reader’s toolbox, and the magic begins! They move into the world of reading!
